What a transformation is not.

Give it a length

Open-ended self-improvement is a mood, not a plan. A transformation has a start date and an end date, and in between it has a shape you can follow. Thirty days is enough to notice; ninety is enough to change; a year is enough to become someone who does not think about it anymore.

The routine is the contract

You do not transform by deciding to transform. You transform by keeping a small set of promises every day. Decide what belongs in the shape of your day, write it down, and let the daily record hold you to it.

Slips are data, not verdicts

A missed day is information — it tells you the shape is too heavy for that particular hour. Adjust the shape. The record is honest precisely because it keeps the missed days alongside the good ones.
