The reliable parts of your day
Motivation is weather. Some mornings it is warm and you move early; other mornings it is not there at all, and the plan quietly dies in bed. Weather cannot be scheduled, so a system built on motivation is a system built on luck.
A routine is the opposite of weather. It is architecture — a fixed morning, afternoon and evening shape that does not ask how you feel. You design it once, when you are calm, and then you follow it when you are not.
Design for your worst day, not your best
Most plans fail because they were written by an ambitious version of you. That version wants a two-hour study block; the tired version of you has twenty minutes. Design the routine that the tired version can actually keep. A small shape you follow beats a grand one you abandon — and once the shape exists, you can widen it.
The record is the reward
Consistency compounds quietly. You will not feel the tenth consecutive day, but the tenth week changes what you expect from yourself. The point of logging is to make that compounding visible: streaks, consistency percentages, hours that add up. What gets recorded gets repeated.
